Luxury Avenue To Participate In New TAXBACK Program Available To International Shoppers

Cancun, Mexico (August 18, 2010) - Luxury Avenue, the unique shopping destination offering an array of high-end designer boutiques, recently announced the implementation of the TAXBACK program at their Cancun location. The TAXBACK Refund Services program reimburses the sales tax on purchases made by international shoppers at participating Luxury Avenue boutiques, which can be identified by the TAXBACK logo clearly marked at each location. The TAXBACK program aims to promote Cancun as an internationally renowned shopping destination.

"By implementing the TAXBACK program, Luxury Avenue further solidifies its position as one of Mexico's renowned shopping destinations," says Jose Manuel Alvarez, Marketing & Communications Manager of Grupo Ultrafemme. "We currently have several boutiques participating in this program but our long-term goal is to have all boutiques enrolled in order to provide shoppers with a great incentive to choose Luxury Avenue when traveling in Cancun."

Shoppers in Luxury Avenue CancunCancun are eligible to receive 93% of the tax back, the other 7% is taken as a fee by TAXBACK, on purchases made at participating Luxury Avenue boutiques and that meet a specific criteria. Reimbursable purchases must be over $1,200MX (approximately $90USD), including tax and no more than $3,000MX (approximately $225USD) if paid for with cash but does not include a limit if purchased with a credit card. Shoppers can accumulate receipts during their vacation but will need an official invoice for each purchase. Official invoices include a detailed account of what items were purchased and clearly mark the breakdown of the cost of goods versus the taxes.

To receive the tax reimbursement on their purchases, shoppers must visit the TAXBACK modules that are located at the Cancun International Airport (CUN) to present the following documents prior to their departures: passport, copy of immigration form, official invoice and boarding pass. If the purchased items exceed the amount of $5,000MX (approximately $380USD), the purchases must also be brought to the TAXBACK modules. Once all of these documents have been presented and validated by the TAXBACK representatives, shoppers will receive their tax repayment via transfer to a debit or credit card. Electronic transfers will be deposited within 40 days of document presentation and reimbursement status can be checked online by inputting the guide number that shoppers receive at the module.

Luxury Avenue Cancun Boutiques that are currently participating in TAXBACK include Pineda Covalin, MaxMara, DKNY, Coach, Daniel Espinosa, Ultrafemme and Ultrajewels.
