“Magical Fireside Christmas” Celebration
Popular Extravaganza Recalls Sights, Sounds of Christmas Past, Opens Thanksgiving
Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania, November 2010 ... The Inn at Pocono Manor has announced it will reprise the popular holiday event, A Magical Fireside Christmas. Launched last year and visited by thousands of yuletide guests from the Poconos and as far away as New York City and Philadelphia, this holiday celebration at the oldest continuously operating resort in the Pocono Mountains will be open to the public all season long. A Magical Fireside Christmas kicks off Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, and continues through December 31st. Admission to the holiday extravaganza is just $5 per person, which includes 5 activities tickets, with additional activity tickets available at $1 per ticket. Additionally, the Inn will collect unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots. The resort is also offering a special Magical Fireside Christmas Overnight Package for a family of four from $158* per guestroom throughout the celebration.
Sparkling trees, the Inn trimmed in white lights, live reindeer standing at attention for Santa, and jolly Saint Nick himself will all be a part of A Magical Fireside Christmas. From the moment visitors enter the century-old resort’s drive lined with sparkling holiday trees to the dazzling mountain-top array of Christmas finery, lighting, seasonal games, sleigh rides and holiday adventures, children of all ages will find themselves mesmerized by the Christmas wonderland.
A Magical Fireside Christmas continues in the Inn’s charming Fireside Lodge with its massive stone fireplaces and historic arts & crafts interiors adorned with glittering holiday decorations. Visitors will find the stately lodge transformed into a Christmas vision of Sugarplum splendor and holiday warmth. Interactive family activities will include holiday ornament making and Christmas cookie decorating, as well as storytellers recalling tales of Christmas Eve’s past. An Old World Santa transported straight from the North Pole will greet everyone and dispense Christmas wisdom to those naughty and nice. Santa family photos will be welcomed and encouraged, and family portrait opportunities will also be available.
The Christmas Celebration continues outside Fireside Lodge with holiday music streaming across the twinkling mountain-top while loved ones snuggle by an open hearth making Christmas S’mores. As was the case last year, there will be live animals for children to visit and pet, including reindeer, and a magical Christmas train for children to ride. Even an old-fashioned horse-drawn sleigh will be on hand for holiday excursions.
The Inn at Pocono Manor’s main building, festively decorated with Christmas finery and trimmed with white lights, will feature glowing century-old fireplaces, gingerbread houses and steaming hot chocolate with peppermint sticks – perfect for warming up after enjoying the winter wonderland adventures. The Inn’s renowned Exchange Restaurant, located just off the lobby, will feature specially-created holiday-themed menus, ideal for families and all guests.
