SEDONA, ARIZ. - (January 12, 2011) - Mii amo, set in Sedona's dramatic red rock country at Enchantment Resort, has been ranked among the world's top destination spas for the past 10 years in part because of its ability to attract unique artists, healers, health practitioners and spiritual leaders for one-of-a-kind events and retreats.  For 2011, Mii amo presents an engaging line-up to suit all interests from art and aromatherapy to health and adventure. The series begins with these February and March activities for guests at Mii amo and Enchantment Resort – some are complimentary to resort guests, others as noted require a fee for participation:

Calligraphy of the Heart, February 8 - 15:  Alok Hsu Kwang-han, an acclaimed Zen calligraphic painter from China, returns to create romantic calligraphic portraits in private sessions for individuals, couples or families in time for a special Valentine's Day celebration, $1,450 - $1,650 per portrait session; reserve through the Mii amo front desk.  Alok will also demonstrate his art February 9 and 13 at 7 p.m. in the Mii amo Library; open to guests on a complimentary basis.

A Loving Alchemy:  Aromatherapy Blending For Valentines, February 11 - 12:  Nick James, a botanical scientist known for his ability to unlock the secrets within essential oils, will present a session on February 11 at 7 p.m. to introduce the benefits of Aromatherapy blending and how this knowledge can foster sharing and sensitivity for couples.  On February 12 at 10:30 a.m., couples can attend a 2-hour workshop to explore each other's scent preferences using pure essential oils and then create their own highly customized Valentine's Day treats, such as romantic massage oils, bath salts and perfumes; $220 per couple plus tax and gratuity.

Partner Yoga for Conscious Connection, February 12:  Wendy Lindahl, MA, a long-time practitioner of gentle and healing yoga and celebrated for her insights into the body's wisdom, will assist partners to balance and support one another in a variety of nurturing Yoga Asanas.  The metaphors of these poses reveal a complex understanding of our partner relationships and strengthen them as well. The class will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the Mii amo Movement Studio and is complimentary for all guests.

Apache Exodus, February 26:  Presented by the Yavapai-Apache Nation, the 1875 Removal and 1900 Return Commemoration is a holiday of remembrance of the Yavapai-Apache's forced removal by the United States military from the Verde Valley in 1875.  The Commemoration honors the tribes' subsequent return to their homeland around 1900.  Guests are invited to join the local Yavapai-Apache tribe for a very special ceremony to commemorate and remember their past.  The complimentary event will take place at Enchantment Circle at 6 a.m.

Capturing the Light of the Southwest, March 18 - 19:  Join professional photographer Larry Lindahl for a slideshow of the Southwest at 7 p.m. in the Mii amo Library on March 18.  Larry will be available to discuss and sign his book Secret Sedona:  Sacred Moments in the Landscape, featuring his field journal essays and photographs collected during 12 years of exploration.  On March 19 at 9 a.m., guests can sign up for a complimentary 3-hour workshop that will include an exhibit and presentation.  The session will cover techniques on lighting and composition, and will conclude outdoors highlighting the beauty of Boynton Canyon through the lens; bring your cameras to gain the most from this unique experience.

Adventure in Everything, March 24 - 27:  Hosted by inspirational life coach Matthew Walker, MA, this three-night workshop will begin with a visual presentation that introduces the Five Elements of Adventure. "Adventure in Everything" takes five pervasive elements of exploring the world's highest mountain ranges and shows with stunning photographic images and practical insight how to translate the metaphor and experience adventure in our everyday endeavors.  Awareness of the Five Elements helps bring passion, energy, and supports growth in our primary relationships, work and professional lives, and life goals.  On March 26-27 you will enjoy short workshops and private sessions to help you map out your lives and work with Matthew to develop a behaviorally specific plan to integrate Adventure in Everything. Cost for the three-night Journey begins at $2,505, and includes accommodations at Mii amo, three meals a day, 2 spa treatments per day, and complimentary activities including red rock hikes, mountain biking, fitness classes and cooking demonstrations.
