CAPE TOWN – (January 26, 2011) – Designed for the most discerning of VIPs or heads of state, the Tata Suite atop the new Taj Cape Town offers commanding views across the city to Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill.

The gracious 4,800-square-foot two-story space named for the hotel company’s founder features amenities that are more than a match to the stunning vistas, including a wrap-around roof terrace with welcoming areas for entertaining and unwinding, a private spa treatment room and steam hammam, even a dedicated chef, 24-hour butler service and 24-hour Jaguar limousine transportation. Thoughtful touches include hardwood floors and custom woven carpets, specially commissioned furnishings, original South African artworks and Bang & Olufsen entertainment systems. At night, the computerized lighting system can be set to suit any mood.

Among the many rooms are a living room and dining room flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, a fully equipped kitchen with pantry, and two luxurious bedrooms with en suite baths. The inviting master bedroom features a walk-in dressing room leading to a private spa treatment room. The marble master bathroom includes a hammam steam room, oversize steam shower and an infinity-edge soaking tub for two that is filled from a ceiling spout.

Upstairs on the suite’s second level are a personal exercise room and a large study that both open onto the expansive 1,710-square-foot roof terrace.  Here is a magnificent stage for casual or formal entertaining, with an intimate sunbathing area, a barbecue, a fire pit and a rustic teak table that can seat 12. This delightful aerie is also the ideal setting for a dramatic cocktail reception or a private wedding ceremony and party complete with background music from the study’s Bang & Olufsen system that can play on external patio speakers.
