“Music and Yoga Inspired” Rafting Trip In Grand Canyon

03-18-2011

Grand Canyon Whitewater’s “Music and Yoga Inspired” Rafting Trip

Grand Canyon Whitewater has just added a “Music & Yoga Inspired” trip to their 2011 rafting trip options. Grand Canyon is a majestic place, one that instills peace, serenity and calm into all who venture through it. What better place to host an adventure filled with music and yoga? Grand Canyon Whitewater has created the Music & Yoga Inspired Trip from their basic 7 Day Full Canyon rafting trip.

The Music & Yoga Inspired trip will take you whitewater rafting through Grand Canyon for seven wondrous days on the mighty Colorado River. This is a trip-of-a-lifetime indeed, taken up a notch by the addition of fine tunes and guided yoga practices. Grand Canyon Whitewater has partnered with Brad Newman and Bill Garrett to bring you this incredible Grand Canyon vacation.

Brad Newman is a phenomenal musician as well as river guide, actor, public speaker, comedian, athlete and award-winning executive director of an NPO. He is a larger-than-life personality and quite entertaining. Brad will bring along his guitar, harmonica and incredible voice to make this river trip that much more enjoyable.

Bill Garrett is ecstatic about this opportunity to teach and practice yoga in such an incredible place. Bill holds a Master’s degree in Holistic Health Education. He is a certified yoga instructor as well as yoga teacher trainer and has taught yoga and yoga philosophy at Prescott College. Along with yoga, Bill also teaches Thai Massage, an ancient type of bodywork that draws from acupressure, passive yoga therapy, and reflexology. Bill has been on several Grand Canyon rafting trips and is a longtime rock climber, kayaker, and proponent of sustainable lifestyle practices.

He will be guiding yoga sessions throughout the trip. The beautiful places to engage in a yoga session are endless. Envision standing in Mountain Pose at the top of a hill gazing over the vastness of the Grand Canyon’s heart, or closing your eyes in Savasana with only the sound of the river flowing by, or relaxing in Child’s Pose near a beautiful clear creek.

Grand Canyon Whitewater’s Music & Yoga Inspired Grand Canyon rafting trip will be held August 22-28, 2011 and will not carry any additional cost to the basic 7 Day Motorized Full Canyon trip price. The addition of entertainment, a yoga instructor and guided sessions is a benefit to the passengers. This whitewater raft trip is 7 days and 7 nights long. The Music & Yoga Inspired trip begins with an included night’s accommodations at Marble Canyon Lodge on August 21. The next day, August 22, your journey rafting the Colorado River begins. Adventure, listen to great music and improve your practice while traveling 187 miles on the mighty Colorado River. Your Grand Canyon vacation comes to a close at Whitmore Wash, where a scenic helicopter ride will bring you to the North Rim; from there you will be flown back to your embarkation point. It is one amazing deal.
