SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA (June 15, 2011) - Did you know that only twenty percent of lion cubs survive to reach adulthood on average? The good news is that South Luangwa lions have produced several cubs this year in the wildlife park preserve. So far they are faring well and being sighted regularly by Bushcamp Company guides and guests at all of their six camps.

As part of The Bushcamp Company's commitment to the wildlife and people of South Luangwa, they work with the local community on projects that help conserve precious resources and generate a sustainable source of income. The Bushcamp Company works with the South Luangwa Conservation Society (SLCS) & North Luangwa Conservation Project (NLCP) and also runs individual educational and conservation programs in the community. To ensure the long term future of these essential projects they make a rate donation of $10 per person per night to our "Luangwa Conservation & Community Fund." Guests rest easy with the satisfaction of knowing that they have contributed directly to ensuring the ongoing survival of the Luangwa's wildlife, environment and local community.

There are over 60 species of animals including elephants, crocs, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, zebras and big cats like leopards and lions at South Luangwa National Park, a good deal of which can be seen on foot. ABOUT BUSHCAMP COMPANY
The Bushcamp Company operates six exclusive bushcamps in the remote south of Zambia's iconic South Luangwa National Park, as well as the Mfuwe Lodge (voted Best Lodge in Zambia 2009) just inside the main park gate. Set out from any of these secluded, intimate camps and you are guaranteed an unrivaled wildlife experience in one of the last unspoilt wilderness regions of Africa - the very place where the African walking safari was pioneered. The Bushcamp Company was founded by Andy Hogg and Andrea Bizzaro in 1999 and is still run from its headquarters at Mfuwe Lodge by Andy - a Zambian who worked for many years at Save the Rhino Trust's Chinzombo Lodge in Luangwa.
