SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (June 21, 2011) - Successful dealmakers rarely take a summer break so the Taj Campton Place Hotel on Union Square has created The Business Edge, a valued package for business travelers and meeting planners to make their visits to this trendsetting city more productive and cost-efficient.

 

The 110-room Taj Campton Place, the first and only boutique-sized luxury hotel in San Francisco, is offering a deluxe double room, two complimentary Taj Signature Martinis on arrival at the hotel’s Bistro and Bar, a daily breakfast credit of $30 a room in the Michelin Guide one-star ranked Campton Place Restaurant, complimentary WiFi and hardwired Internet access, one suit pressing at no charge, an in-room espresso machine and tea maker and choice of the Wall Street JournalNew York Times or international business newspaper.

 

The Business Edge package is priced at $325 a night exclusive of taxes and gratuities through September 15, 2011. It provides a $485 a night savings compared with the full price of a deluxe double room and the normal cost of the other amenities. Additional savings are offered to meeting and conference planners.

 

“We have a long tradition of being the hotel of choice in San Francisco for business travelers who want the comforts of home and the service efficiencies of a highly effective office at a price that delivers exceptional value,” says Ashrafi Matcheswala, general manager of the Taj Campton Place. “Our staff has been hand-picked to provide not only gracious hospitality but also to swiftly respond to the business person’s many time-sensitive requests far beyond just prompt room service.”

 

For example, the concierge can provide a guest with a free laptop computer, arrange copying a single document or print copies of a 50 page presentation. The hotel’s international staff can address the cultural preferences of businesspeople from India, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America as well as the U.S.   

 

However, the true efficiencies are in the details, says Ms. Matcheswala. Hence, every room has a well-lit desk with a comfortable chair, the choice of wireless (WiFi) or hardwired (broadband) Internet access and numerous easy-to-reach AC outlets to plug in and charge a wide variety of personal electronics and high-technology gear.  Both the ground floor business center and the extensively equipped fitness center on the 9th floor are accessible 24 hours a day.

 

“Today’s business traveler wants speed, convenience and thoughtful personal service,” she says, “and The Business Edge package reflects that. Our welcoming gift of two of our signature martinis in our Bistro and Bar, one of downtown’s most popular gathering places, lets the guest rendezvous with his or her client, colleague or prospect at check in and then catch up.”

 

Breakfast is served in the Michelin-starred Campton Place Restaurant from 7:00 am and the $30 credit per room makes it a cost effective way to start the business day.  The fine California-French cuisine on a new summer menu prepared by Chef Sri at lunch and dinner features exotic dishes using the freshest ingredients sourced from small production Northern California artisanal growers, ranchers and organic farmers, along with fresh spices flown in from the chef’s homeland of Southern India.

 

“The restaurant is an ideal venue for doing business over a leisurely meal,” adds Ms. Matcheswala. “We have large, high-backed leather upholstered booths and our tables are spaced out to provide maximum privacy. Plus, Richard Dean, our master sommelier, is always available to provide his expert guidance on selecting a wine appropriate for the food ordered—whether a bottle or simply a glass.”
