ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours Lavish Attention on Cuisine / Culture

FORT COLLINS, CO, Aug. 11, 2011 ˆ ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours that in 1972 was the first North American company to offer European pedal tours with a program in Italy (http://www.experienceplus.com/) will share five new or expanded itineraries in 2012 with active bicycle travelers.

New bicycle tour programs in the Czech Republic, France and Italy begin as early as May and continue through October.

Czech Please! Explore Moravia and Bohemia on a 7-day ($3,400 per person, double) or an 11-day tour ($4,550 per person, double), that covers more than 150 miles over 7 days (260 miles over 11). Czech Bicycle Tours begin and end in Mikulov/Cesky Krumlov or Telc. Revealed is a landscape of 15th century forbidden forests and castles along world-famous greenways from Vienna to Prague skirting the Austrian/Czech border. Departure dates in 2012 are June 25, Aug.6 and Aug. 27. 11-day: http://www.experienceplus.com/tours/tours.html?tid=888

Cycling Languedoc Region of France is an 11-day journey of over 430 miles at $4,550 per person, double, that begins and ends in Nimes / Perpignan. Another option is a shorter 8-day tour at $3,595 that ends in Carcassone. Both encompass a premier wine region overlaid with French and Spanish languages and cultures, positioned between the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Today this region is classic Mediterranean France with vast expanses of vineyards and vestiges of Roman history in Nimes and Narbonne. A highlight of this tour is two nights in Carcassonne, perhaps the best preserved medieval fortress town in Europe. 2012 departure dates are May 27 and Sept. 2.

Best of Provence Plus! is a new version of an old favorite, offering 11 days over 300 miles at $4,550 per person, double and beginning and ending in Arles / Aix-en-Provence. Another option is an 8-day tour at $3,450 that ends in Gigondas. Mediterranean cuisine, Côtes-de-Rhône wines, locally pressed olive oils, Roman ruins, artisans, open-air markets and a visit to a chef‚s home are part of the fun. Passing scenes may be familiar thanks to Van Gogh and Cézanne. The longer trip concludes in the small hilltop villages of Luberon that made Peter Mayle's A Year in Provence an international best-seller. Departure dates in 2012 are May 12, June 9, Sept. 15 and Oct. 6. See: http://www.experienceplus.com/tours/tours.html?tid=2694

Long an attraction for writers and artists, the Lake District and this program encompass Maggiore, Lugano and Como. 2012 departure dates are June 17, July 29 and Aug. 19. See:http://www.experienceplus.com/tours/tours.html?tid=2708
