Climate Change Challenge

Last year Abercrombie & Kent established the Climate Change Challenge to educate our travellers about the threat posed by climate change. Through Friends of Conservation, we directly supported projects that offset the impact of global warming in places like the Masai Mara. We planted a tree on behalf of every guest who travelled with us and supported alternative energy initiatives to enable the indigenous population to continue to co-exist with wildlife as they have for generations. Mission Trips to Antarctica and Mount Kilimanjaro delivered needed equipment to help researchers monitor the changes in these delicate ecosystems.

The Nature Conservancy: Brazil
May 18 - 28, 2008

The Nature Conservancy and A&K have created a partnership to bring your clients one-of-a-kind journeys to some of the most beautiful and biologically rich places on earth. For the 2008 travel season, one of these unforgettable expeditions explores the biodiverse wetlands and forests of Brazil.

On this unique journey, your clients explore the Atlantic Forest from a hotel located within a nature reserve and learn about the Conservancy's efforts to combat climate change through innovative work on the ground. Though only a fraction of the size of the Amazon rainforest, the Atlantic Forest harbors a comparable range of natural diversity, including the golden lion tamarin, wooly spider monkey, red-tailed parrot and maned three-toed sloth.
