DALLAS – August 25, 2011 – Charging up its extensive eco-friendly amenities, Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Dallas <http://www.hotelpalomar-dallas.com/> is now offering electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, designating it as the first Texas hotel to partner withThe EV Project <http://www.theevproject.com/> , the largest electric transportation project in history.  As part of the program, ECOtality, Inc <http://www.ecotality.com> . installed two of its BlinkÒ Pedestal EV charging stations (240 volt AC input) this month, ready for use by locals and guests, along with celebratory deals from Hotel Palomar Dallas and adjacent Central 214, a Kimpton restaurant. The timely installation of the hotel’s Blink charging stations builds on The EV Project’s momentum as the Blink Network expands throughout Texas and partner car manufacturers introduce new EV models to the market.
 
Starting now through early 2012, Hotel Palomar Dallas is providing free public access to the Blink charging stations via the hotel’s valet. EV drivers can receive a complimentary “charge” while they stay or dine, and enjoy special discounts, including:

Central 214 - Free “Charge” Entrée
Diners who utilize Hotel Palomar’s EV charging stations will receive a coupon for one complimentary lunch or dinner entrée per vehicle (up to $30 value) at acclaimed Central 214 <http://www.central214.com/> . Chef Blythe Beck’s menu features a variety of seasonal dishes prepared with fresh organic or regionally sourced ingredients.

The Blink Network of charging stations provides EV drivers the freedom to travel as they choose and conveniently charge at Blink commercial locations along the way. EV drivers soon will be able to charge at any Blink station through a variety of options including interoperable RFID cards, smartphone applications, and mobile phone and credit card based payment options. By becoming Blink Members, consumers may also yield even greater advantages of the Blink Network, such as discounted charging rates, reservation systems, and enhanced Blink Network capabilities.
