which includes a $50 dining credit with rates starting at just $195

HONOLULU, HAWAII– As the weather cools down, travelers looking to escape to sunnier destinations can fall into a great deal at Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation on the island of Kauai, when they earn a $50 dining credit with a five-night minimum stay. The Food Fall Special treats guests to the delicious offerings at the Plantation Garden Restaurant and a spacious one-bedroom Royal Garden condominium starting at just $195 per night through December 21, 2011.

“This fall, we invite travelers to come take pleasure in the renowned Kauai weather and the warm, island hospitality at Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation,” said Chris Gampon, general manager of Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation. “Our Food Fall Special lets guests take in all of the best things we have to offer, from five days surrounded by tropical garden and stunning beach views, to Hawaii-inspired dishes that will wow the palate at Plantation House Restaurant.”

Guests will have an exceptional evening out at Plantation Garden Restaurant, sampling Pacific Rim cuisine as they take in the beautiful views of the Moir Gardens surrounding the eatery. Start with shrimp spring rolls with a sweet Hawaiian chili sauce or sample the ahi tuna poke served raw with avocado, cucumbers, wakame seaweed and mango coulis for a favorite local appetizer. Diners will find a number of dishes featuring fresh, local fish, including the seafood lau lau, a twist on the luau staple which includes fish, large prawns, jumbo scallops and julienne vegetables that are wrapped in the traditional ti leaf and paired with furikake and wasabi aioli. Other hearty entrée choices include items such as pot roast served with Molokai sweet potatoes or tender peppercorn rubbed skirt steak topped with pineapple relish.

To complete the meal, diners can sip on a bevy of beverages including wines, local island beers and the Plantation Garden Restaurant’s specialty cocktails. Signature creations include the refreshing garden island tea with green tea Fris vodka, agave nectar and fresh mint leaves, as well as the tropical mango madness with Absolut citron vodka, mango puree and lime. The restaurant also serves up sumptuous smoothies blended with frosty vanilla ice cream in flavors like passion fruit, strawberry and guava.

After eating their fill, guests can retire to their comfortably appointed room to rest up for a big day of adventure on the sunny Poipu coast. Condominiums feature separate living areas and individual bedrooms to provide ample space for families or groups. Each unit also includes a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, cookware and tableware to whip up home-cooked dinners or prepare between-meal snacks. Guests also enjoy amenities including complimentary high-speed Internet, in-room safe and access to on-site laundry facilities.

Couples can also participate in the popular vow-renewal ceremonies, offered exclusively to Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation guests. Each Thursday at 4 p.m., couples are invited to renew their love and commitment to one another at a non-denominational ceremony led by a kahu (Hawaiian officiant). The ceremony includes island traditions like the exchanging of flower lei, blowing of a conch shell, recitation of a Hawaiian chant and a Hawaiian slack key guitar performance to end the event. Each couple will be provided with a certificate to celebrate the special day and their vow renewal. Reservations for this service are required and space is limited to six couples per ceremony.
