Mount Washington Resort offers Value-Added Packages & Family-Friendly Fun this Winter

BRETTON WOODS, NH, January 23, 2008 - Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH is offering family travelers of all ages a multitude of unforgettable snow-infused activities and offerings throughout the winter season. With a range of packages that offer a savings of up to 50-percent and family-friendly activities suitable for all ages -- including skiing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and nature tours -- Mount Washington Resort is an ideal venue for a winter getaway with the whole family.

Ski & Stay Packages: Kids Ski for Free!

The Ski & Stay Packages are ideal for skiing families, as kids ages 12 and under can ski for free, and all guests can ski for free on Friday nights.  Nordic skiers may also enjoy free equipment rental and a 1 ½ hour group lesson each day.  Guests may stay at The Mount Washington hotel from $219 per night, including dinner and breakfast (from $159 per night with breakfast only), at Bretton Arms Inn from $129 per night including a full breakfast, or at the family-friendly Lodge from just $99 per night including continental breakfast. Rates are per person, based on double occupancy, single supplement pricing available upon request.  Guests may also choose to stay at the resort's spacious Townhomes, with prices starting at $379 for fully-furnished two-bedroom condos (rates based on two guests per bedroom, some restrictions apply).  Guests on any resort Ski & Stay package anxious to hit the slopes on their day of arrival can enjoy two-for-one tickets.

The Winter Hotel to Hut Package

The Winter Hotel to Hut package offers travelers the opportunity to spend part of their vacation relaxing in luxury at Mount Washington Resort followed by a mountain getaway in an Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) hut.  Guests will begin their Winter Hotel to Hut package at the Resort enjoying all the amenities of this historic New England resort.  They will then be escorted to an AMC hut to begin their guided snowshoe or Nordic ski trek through the backcountry of the White Mountains.  Hut guests will be treated to freshly-prepared meals and evenings can be spent mingling with other hut guests, exchanging stories about the day's adventures.  The Winter Hotel to Hut package starts at $189 per adult per night and $109 per child ages four to 12 for guests staying at The Mount Washington Hotel, including full dinner and breakfast, plus a picnic lunch packed for the hike.  Rates at other resort properties start at $135 per adult.  Reservations are required two weeks in advance.  This package requires a two-night, two-person minimum.

Family Interchangeable Lift Ticket: Two tickets for the Price of One

The Family Interchangeable Lift Ticket is an innovative way for parents to share babysitting duties while out on the slopes.  Parents who purchase the Family Interchangeable Lift Ticket are issued two ski lift passes for the price of one.  This ticket makes it possible for one parent to look after a child who is too young to ski or be enrolled in the programs offered in the Kids' Alpine Club, while the other parent enjoys time on the slopes with the older children.  The cost of a Family Interchangeable Lift Ticket for the 2007/2008 season is $59 for midweek/non-holiday and $69 for weekend/holiday.

Ski & Snowplay Program

Mount Washington Resort's Kids' Alpine Club offers a variety of ways to get kids involved in winter sports.  For the resort's younger guests, the Ski and Snowplay Program (ages 3-5) is a fun introduction to skiing and snowplay and includes rental equipment, nursery supervision, lunch and two one-hour lessons.  Prices start at $115 for a full-day and $85 for a half-day per child.  Cap off the ski day with complimentary supervised Après Ski Parties just for kids from 4:30 - 6:00 pm, while mom and dad enjoy après ski fun of their own at Slopeside Pub.

Complimentary Winter Recreational Options

Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted by the extensive list of complimentary recreational options available to guests of Mount Washington Resort, including snow tubing, ice skating (including skate rentals), snowshoeing and swimming in one of three indoor heated pools.  New this winter, the Kinderwoods Winter Playground is located at the base of the Bethlehem Express Quad, replete with snow forts, igloos, zip line, tubing and sledding, hoops, loops, toys and more.  Mount Washington Resort's Kids' Club at The Mount Washington Hotel offers guests age four to twelve a vast array of activities under the guidance of the resort's experienced Kids' Club counselor team.  Mount Washington Resort's Evening Kids' Club includes supervised dinner and game nights capturing specific themes including Winter Fun, Jungle Safari and Wild, Wild, West.  Cost for Resort guests is $25 per session.    The Resort also offers complimentary Family Fun programs each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night (and during vacation weeks) from 7:30 - 8:30 pm where families may participate in a scavenger hunt that is fun for all ages.
