THE FAMOUS MACY*S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE ROUTE

--The Strand Hotel, steps from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, will hold spaces along the parade route for guests purchasing its Thanksgiving Day package that includes accommodations and gourmet dinner —

 

            The 177-room Strand Hotel NYC, located on West 37th Street in the heart of the fashion district, will offer its guests a coveted view of the world’s most famous Thanksgiving Day Parade and its spectacular feature floats, including the highly anticipated B. Boy Balloon, as part of their 2011 Thanksgiving Day package. 

The Thanksgiving at the Strand Package provides easy access to the famed Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, offering a scout to reserve prime viewing locale for guests prior to the parade, and even provides them with a thermos of hot chocolate to enjoy while viewing the holiday festivities. The package also includes two nights in a deluxe guestroom for four, gourmet 3-course Thanksgiving dinner at the Strand American Bistro restaurant, prepared by Executive Chef Kelvin Fernandez, daily continental breakfast, late checkout, surprise goody bag and exclusive Macy’s shopping coupons. Rates start at $729.00 and are based on single or double occupancy for 2 nights in deluxe room. Additional information:

1. Additional 3rd or 4th person: $30.00 per person per night, children less than eleven (11) years old are free, a maximum of 4 people in the room.  

2. Additional guest for dinner:  $65.00 beverage, tax and gratuity are excluded.

Children under eleven (11) for Dinner: $30.00 per child for dinner, plus applicable taxes and gratuity. 

5.  Additional Room Nights:  $299.00 plus applicable taxes and gratuity, and based upon the hotel’s availability.

 

            Opened in 2009 as New York’s first fashion hotel, The Strand Hotel is considered an homage to the iconic fashion figures, décor and style that defined a generation and an industry. This is evident immediately upon entering the hotel with historic fashion prints throughout the lobby; a striking tiered amber-hued chandelier hanging from upper to lower lobby, dramatic, tapered mahogany columns and a two-story water wall showcasing glimmer drops behind a contemporary glass spiral staircase leading to the ground floor. 

Throughout the hotel’s public spaces and guestrooms are black and white vintage prints from the pages of Vogue and Vanity Fair, taken by photographers Clifford Collin, Richard Rutledge, Eduard Steichen, John Rawlings, Toni Frissel and Lusha Nelson and others. The fashion theme is continued through the guestrooms, each capturing the glamour and elegance of Old Hollywood with Bogart-style furnishings, art-deco style boudoir chairs, decadent color schemes, luxurious baths outfitted in imported slate and marble; high-end bedding and linens, and plush bathrobes and slippers.  The piece de resistance is the New York City views from all 177 guestrooms; views of true New York City-scapes including legendary water towers and the Empire State building.
