Lucky Californian is Paris-bound on a Pastry Quest with Five Free Nights in Paris

Paris, France November 22, 2011 – Hotel Jules today announced the lucky winner of  “Our Daily Jules” contest: Katie Lacock of Anaheim, California.  In the month-long competition hosted on the Hotel Jules Faceboook page (http://fr-fr.facebook.com/hoteljules) Katie correctly translated 26 of the 34 phrases, and that won her five free fights in Paris at Hotel Jules, with daily breakfast and VIP treatment.

“I am so excited, I’ve always wanted to go to Paris!” said Lacock, a full-time student who is currently in first-semester French class.

“My lifelong dream has been to go to pastry school in Paris.  I found out about the Jules contest when I was searching on-line for study-abroad programs. I love baking and I have a tiny business designing cupcakes for friends, so I’m looking to be really inspired by what I will find in the food capital of Europe!

Katie is planning on a summer visit and will be bringing her Mom.  For both lucky ladies, this will be their first trip to Paris.  When you are born and raised next to Disneyland, dreams really can come true.

We look forward to sharing with you pictures and impressions from Katie’s trip and Parisienne pastry quest.  Armed with her “Paris Survival Kit” -- the sourcebook that inspired the translation contest: http://hoteljules-paris.com/tag/paris-survival-kit/ and with Jules as her exuberant guide (see his blog here: http://hoteljules-paris.com/) Katie and her Mom will discover some of the most intriguing shops and patisseries in the 9th, Jules favorite neighborhood.

Many dozens of entries were received in the Hotel Jules Facebook translation competition, a first time effort in social media for this elegant boutique hotel in Paris’ boho 9th arondisement, just paces away from the trendy Rue des Martyrs, a street filled with one-off and special pastry and bakery shops as well as quaint restaurants.

The Hotel Jules is under the management of G.L.A. Hotels, Paris, a boutique management company focused on properties that are chic and that express elegance in design (www.glahotels.com/).
