Winter's approaching fast and Badger Pass is ready for action. Revered since its founding in 1935, California's original ski area sets itself apart from other slopes with world-renowned instruction, 10 slopes, five ski lifts, snow tubing hills and a beginner-friendly terrain park for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. Badger is also the starting point for mile after mile of snowshoe and cross-country ski trails. Plus, let's not forget the breathtaking views of Yosemite's winter scenery!

Your last chance to get Stay 'N Play Passes at last year's prices is opening week, December 16ˆ22 ˆ $35 for adults and $20 for children. This package, available to those lodging at a DNC Yosemite property, includes an all-day Badger Pass lift ticket, equipment rental, one group lesson, one snow tubing session, a 2-hour Valley Floor Tour, ice-skating sessions and skate rental. That's normally a $174 value!

Season passes are also discounted during opening week. Adults pay only $159 and $139 for children.

Or, stay at Wawona Hotel anytime December 16 to 23 and receive two free lift tickets to Badger Pass.

Let the seasons begin! Savings and fresh snow are certainly upon us. Badger Pass is primed to continue its reputation as a family-friendly snow sports mecca in the heart of Yosemite.

Freeze-Frame The Frosty Forest

Yosemite was made for winter. Actually, it was made by winter. The valley was carved out of the Sierra by a giant glacier. So it's only natural that the colors of winter make the park appear even more beautiful. Ask any photographer: winter is the best season around here.

One of the first photographers to capture Yosemite's grandeur through the lens was the world-renowned Ansel Adams. His family still runs The Ansel Adams Gallery, located in the heart of the Yosemite Valley. To honor Mr. Adams' great works, Yosemite offers half-day, full-day and multi-day Ansel Adams photography workshops. These packages provide guided in-park walks led by instructors who help you maximize your camera's ability, recommend shooting locations, and personally assist in improving your techniques.
