TEL AVIV'S ANNUAL FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL OFFERS SELECTION OF CLASSIC AND CONTEMPORARY FILMS, MARCH 17 - APRIL 5

New York - March 12, 2012: Tel Aviv's annual French Film Festival (March 17 - April 5) will feature screenings of newly released and iconic French films, as well as an appearance by actress Charlotte Rampling, at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque.

The festival will kick-off with the screening of Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano's film Intouchables. The festival will also play host to iconic French actress Charlotte Rampling from March 25-28, and present several films from her longstanding career, including The Night Porter, Sous Le Sable and Melancholia.

The festival will also offer special screenings of contemporary French films, including Angelina Maccarone's documentary,The Look; Poliss, a Cesar Award-nominated drama directed by and starring Maïwenn; and Declaration of War, an Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Film.

"We are very excited for this year's annual Tel Aviv French Film Festival," said Haim Gutin, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America," which will provide some additional excitement for film-minded travelers arriving in Israel in early spring." 

The festival will also offer screenings of Mathieu Kassovitz's political drama, Rebellion; and a unique film by Iranian-born French illustrator and animator Marjane Satrapi, entitled Chicken with Plums.
