Getaway to Paris and the Loire Valley

In Paris there are dozens of famous sights to see: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomphe.  You can book an optional tour or just wander through the boutiques on the Left Bank, have a coffee in a sidewalk café and dine in an atmospheric bistro before relaxing in the modern 3-star Hotel Kyriad Bercy.

Pick up the rental car and head tor Orleans to see Joan of Arc’s half-timbered house, then on to the huge Château de Chambord, with its amazing towers and turrets, ending up in the charming Hotel L’Univers in Tours.  Other days you can visit the photogenic Château de Chenonceau, with its arches  spanning  the River Cher, the châteaux of Blois, Amboise and Saumur, Villandry with its Renaissance garden and Azay-le-Rideau, the most beautiful château of all. Other atrractions include the medieval center of Tours, wine towns like Vouvray and even restaurants cut out of the rock cliffs along the Loire. Then it’s back to Paris, with an overnight stop at the Timhotel Chartres Chatelet to see Chartres’ famed Gothic cathedral.
